Fisher Space 400RB - Supernova Rainbow Titanium Nitride Bullet Space Pen

$155.00
Stars which are eight times or more massive than our Sun end their lives in a most spectacular way; they go supernova. A Supernova is the most powerful and luminous explosion in space. Explosions so stellar they are bright enough to briefly outshine their entire galaxies, with outbursts containing mind-boggling heat and force helping heat up the interstellar medium, distribute heavy elements throughout the Galaxy, and accelerate cosmic rays. Supernova remnants are extremely important for the understanding of our Galaxy. These distant star deaths give us life.  Astronomers have been able to confirm that most oxygen in the universe comes from Supernova explosions. The amount of oxygen generated from these explosions can fuel thousands of solar systems.

Given their color, vibrancy, energy and connection to our world, these stars that go out with a bang, so to speak, are the perfect representation of the bullet space pen that is so attractive and so unique it leaves you awe-struck by its iridescent beauty.

When closed, the Bullet Space Pen is the perfect size to carry in your wallet, pocket, purse, car glove box, organizer, or toolbox. When opened it's a full sized, evenly balanced writing instrument.

The original Bullet Space Pen was conceived in July of 1948 by Paul Fisher, who was soon machining a new pen design shaped from solid aluminium. This became our first Fisher ball point pen, the #400 Bullet Pen, and arguably the most popular pen of the twentieth century. This pen is now composed of all brass with a chrome finish.

Cited as an outstanding example of industrial art, the classic design of the Fisher Bullet Pen has a place in the permanent collection in the New York Museum of Modern Art. The Bullet's timeless styling has been the topic of many art books and magazine articles. Often imitated but never duplicated, the Fisher Bullet Space Pen continues to be our most popular pen.

On January 13, 2022, what was once known as the Rainbow Titanium Nitride Bullet Space Pen, officially became SUPERNOVA. The perfect name chosen from a community campaign to give this pen an appropriate space-age title. Before Supernova naming creations conceived by the Fisher Space Pen community included Solar Flare, Dark Matter, Purple Haze, Aurora Borealis Green, Pink Nebula, Red Planet and Blue Moon. Special thanks to our loyal fans for helping us rename this space pen.
